The Japanese players call the act of moving between multiple gods to collect apostles and artifacts “faith relay” or “faith marathon”.

Introduction

Related pages

The detailed specifications for piety (piety level) are written on the Gods page, especially in the section “Offerings and piety”.

If the content is difficult, just offer the specified number of the specified items without thinking about the details.

Offerings to collect on a regular basis

The following offerings take time to collect, so you should keep them instead of throwing them away.

  • Junk, tombs (Jure)
    • Do not set a Strict Anti-Littering Law policy so that junk can be dumped in the Home.
    • For Jure fanatics: Collect tombs by hanging yourself with a sturdy rope about 500 times within the first 90 days of the game, when there is no death penalty. Wooden ones are worth 1 point, stone ones etc. are worth 2 points.
  • Ancient books, Naughty books (Izpalt)
    • In Elin, you don't have to deliver the books you've deciphered to the Mage's Guild, so keep them after you've deciphered them instead of selling them. Naughty books disappear after you've read them all, so stop reading them after you've used up your remaining 1 charge.
    • You can collect spellbooks as you like. If you're a melee character, you won't have much trouble stocking up on spells, so you might as well collect them.
  • Rods (Horome)
    • You'll be asked for a large number of these, so use the package frequently to get lots of them. Even if you use up all of them, it's okay because the value as an offering doesn't decrease even if you have 0 charge.
  • Heavy Sword (Horome, Yevan)
    • For altar conversion. Horome's altars are made of Dawn cloth and are light, but the offerings that are easy to use for converting altars are rare.
    • Also keep the extra swords for Yevan.
  • Heavy Body Armour, Axe (Yevan)
    • You don't need to go out and buy these items, but if you pick up stone or metal equipment in Nefia, you should keep it. You can sell the cloth clothes, etc. as they are bulky and not worth much.
    • Collecting polearms for Izpalt and daggers for Kizuami is optional. The former has better offerings, and the latter is too light to be worth much.
  • Crim powder, bone powder (Jure, Mani, Kizuami)
    • If you see any crim or bones, collect them. Although Jure and Mani are superior to other offerings, you should still collect them even after you have finished worshipping these two pillars, as you will use them for Kizuami. I'll explain why you need crim and bone powder for Kizuami later.
    • As for bones, you can also collect them intensively by dismantling the Machinarium, which I will discuss later. It depends on whether you value simplicity or stamina efficiency.

Techniques to Remember

Altar Conversion

If you make an offering to another god's altar and then make it your own altar, you will receive a bonus based on the unit price of the offering.

If it's Eyth's altar, you will receive three times the unit price of the offering, and if it's another god's altar, you will receive six times the unit price of the offering. (There are more detailed specifications, but I'll skip them. If you want to know, go to the Gods page.)

The more expensive the item, the more effective it is. (Horome, Yevan, Izpalt) The gods that require offerings that are difficult to collect are the most effective. Other gods can also be satisfied with heavy meat such as dodo meat.

Dodo Hunting

A Dodo (race: dinosaur) meat is worth about 16 points. If you see them on the wildness map, hunt them aggressively. 60 pieces are enough for one god. If you use this in conjunction with the above altar Conversion, you only need 30 pieces.

If you want to collect them intensively, hunt the ones you've domesticated and revive them with the bartender.

You can buy dodos from trainers (about 500 orens) or capture them with monster balls at the casino, and you can recruit bartenders or buy them from slave traders (about 13,000 orens).

Unlike Elona, killing livestock does not always result in meat dropping, so be careful that the chance of getting meat is the same as when you kill wild animals.

Dismantling the Machinarium

A way to collect a large amount of bones stably, which can be used as fishing bait and as an offering to many gods (Jure, Mani, Kizuami).

As a guide to the number of scraps you can collect, 1000 scraps per god.

Dig into the walls and floors of the Machinarium Nefia to collect scrap, craft nails from the scrap, and then break the nails down with a hammer to turn them into bones. You can then turn them into bone powder or use them as materials for other crafting.

Be careful that the many processes required and the number of times you need to sleep to recover stamina (i.e. the number of days in the game) will easily add up.

Also, the fertilizer demolition method described below is more efficient for collecting materials for fishing bait.

War Request

You can collect meat by fighting lots of enemies. You can also collect bones, depending on the map.

If the request is called “We're at war!”, the request map will be a battlefield in the wilderness, but there are lots of bones here, so collect them.

The same war request is not suitable if the name is “Monster's den”, as you will be sent to a normal plain.

You can't collect animal bones, but you can get them by breaking them down with a hammer.

By the time you've finished collecting all the bones on the map, the enemy commander will have appeared, so defeat him and return. You can collect around 50 bones per map.

It's just a side activity to collect meat, karma and money, but the advantage is that you can get bones with less stamina consumption than dismantling Machinarium.

Fertilizer Dismantling

If you're after fishing bait, this is about 10 times more efficient than dismantling Machinarium.

When you dismantle flowers, you can get fresh leaves.

If you make crude arrows using these leaves as materials, you can get 40 crude arrows.

If you put these in a fertilizer box and let them rot, you can make around 10 fertilizer items.

If you dismantle the fertilizer with a hammer, it becomes meat, so you can get around 10 materials for fishing bait from one flower and one branch.

If you stack hundreds of arrows together, you will lose some when they are converted into fertilizer, so you need to break them up into smaller batches of around 40 and let them rot.

If you don't want to even bother with breaking up items into smaller batches, you should probably just demolish Machinarium.

A method for avoiding the conversion penalty almost entirely

This is a technique that makes use of the fact that even if you receive the second divine punishment, the number of turns will not be overwritten, and you will be paid with a death penalty.

For those who are afraid of the penalty for converting from Opatos or a god that you have worshipped for a long time.

  1. Fail to take over the altar on purpose with a low-value offering, and receive the divine punishment. Any offering will do, but nameless meat obtained by dismantling fertilizer is easy to procure.
  2. Convert while still under the divine punishment
  3. Die
  4. Crawl up
  5. After spending 200 turns as you see fit and having digested the divine punishment for the failed takeover, you're done

Who should be your first god?

Apostles can be obtained with 15 Faith, and Artifacts with 30.

The basic way to raise your Faith skill is to pray to a god every day, so you need to think about which god you want to spend time with until your skills grow.

  • Kumiromi

If you don't make Kumiromi your final faith, it's safe to say that it's the only choice.

It's a good match because you can do time-consuming farming during the period until your faith skills grow, and it's also extremely easy to collect offerings.

It's also good because you get a bonus for sewing, so you can learn recipes for things like backpacks early on.

  • Mani

Surprisingly, Mani is recommended for players who make Kumiromi their final faith. The bonus for the Lockpicking skill is the main attraction.

The Lockpicking skill also requires a certain level of skill to train, so the Lockpicking bonus of Mani is really appreciated in the early stages of the game, when you can't even open treasure chests in the wildness maps

Also, Mani's ability to control machines is useful in boss battles against Nymelle, so in that sense he is a god for the early stages of the game.

  • Opatos

An extremely polarizing god, recommended for demigods after Kumiromi, but for all other races, you should definitely choose this god after the second one.

The reason for this is that, due to the game's specifications, Opatos has the property of having a heavier iron ball of conversion penalty than other gods.

If you spend hundreds of days under this god, except for demigods who can nullify divine punishment, you may receive a penalty of tens of thousands of turns in excess during conversion.

If you don't mind the conversion penalty, you can get a lot of benefits that are useful for early-stage players, such as damage reduction and bonuses for mining and weightlifting.

Individual explanations for each god

This section explains how to collect each god's favorite food and what you should do before converting.

The order is roughly in ascending order of difficulty, but you can change the order or skip some depending on your final faith and the rewards you want.

Also, don't forget that you can choose to offer heavy meat, regardless of your God's favorite.

Kumiromi of Harvest

Offering

Cut 900 seeds with a sickle and offer 30 of them each. That's it. It's extremely simple.

You can use the seeds of any plant, but it's easy to gather a large number of grass and miscanthus that grow in the plains.

Also, mushrooms are used as bait for fishing, and food is used to make wine, crim flour and other offerings to the gods, so you should harvest them as they are without turning them into seeds.

Another option is to run away with the heavy vegetables you have been asked to harvest and offer them as an offering, but you will lose karma both when you run away with them and when you offer them, and Idon't recommend taking such a risk because you can easily collect the offerings of Kumiromi without taking such a risk.

Things you want to do before converting

You can convert immediately after receiving the artifact, but you can also convert after finishing crop breeding to the level you can reach with the Kumiromi faith and the Kumiromi Sythe farming bonus. However, if you get too carried away, you will lose the opportunity to quit and you will be unable to leave Kumiromi, so it is better to set a boundary for yourself.

You should also want to come up with recipes for looms and writing utensils, as you will receive bonuses for skills related to crafts such as sewing and reading.

  • Backpack
  • Short curtain (stick only)
  • Futon
  • Palmia Times
  • Naughty Book
  • Grimoire of Study

Opatos of Earth

Offering

Dig 450 copper ore at Vernis Mine and offer 15 pieces at a time. Easy!

If the ore is lighter than copper (less than 1.0s), 30 pieces make a set.

Countermeasures against divine punishment

If you really want to avoid divine punishment from Opatos, you can prepare the necessary number of ores in advance, and while the divine punishment from the previous god is still in effect, you can receive the artifact and convert to the new god, and then receive the death penalty (and crawl back up) instead of the iron ball.

You can choose whether to quickly atone with your life, or to endure the heavy divine punishment for a long time and atone.

Things you want to do before converting

Since blacksmithing gives a bonus, it will be helpful later on if you have the recipe for a Blacksmith's /Machine table while you are a believer.

In particular, if you have the recipe for a pipe, the Mani of Machine faith described later will be much more efficient, so you should learn this at least.

There are many other useful recipes, but there are many things that cannot be reached with just the faith bonus.

  • Armored wooden mannequin
  • Bank bed(single)
  • Human generator
  • Pipes
  • Bunk beds
  • BBQ Table
  • Fridge (large)
  • Generator

Another option is to take advantage of the mining and weight-lifting bonuses to dismantle Machinarium while worshipping Opatos, and collect a large amount of scrap to use as an offering to the later gods.

However, the longer you stay, the heavier the conversion penalty becomes, so demigods and below should convert as soon as possible.

Ehekatl of Luck

Offerings

Catch and offer fish. Offer 30 fish each weighing less than 1.0s, and offer fish weighing 1.0s or more so that the total stack is within 15.0s.

I recommend using the following as bait: corpses of soil that appear when you dismantle fertilizer, mushrooms grown in tents or winter fields, and bones collected from dismantling Machinarium.

Things to do before converting

Convert altars, lighten it, and take it back to your base.

Because altar conversion gives you a big bonus depending on the value of the offerings, having an altar for taking over makes the remaining faith in the god much easier.

Also, it might be fun to try using the Stamina Randomizer to process a large amount of scrap collected from Machinarium revisions.

Lulwy of the Wind

Offerings

Make bonito flake wine from the fish that is left over after offering it to Ehekatl. The problem is that you want to use the bonito flake wine to raise money too.

If you are keeping bees, you can make sugar by burning the beehives in a furnace and then making wine from that.

You can put any kind of uncooked food or seasoning into the brewing vat.

Mani of Machine

Offering

Craft 60 pipes at the Blacksmith's table. 60 ingots, 60 bolts (1 scrap).

Unless you use very light ingots, you will reach the piety cap (20 points) for a single item, which is over 10.0s.

The pipe recipe is learned randomly, and you may be able to learn it if you have a blacksmithing skill of 7 or more and you break the pipe on the wall of the casino with a hammer.

If you don't have the recipe for the pipe, offer 30 x 30 pieces of bone powder or crim powder.

Things I want to do before converting

Practice your lockpicking skills. Practice with the treasure chests in the junk shop and the lottery box in the inn.

Incidentally, you need to have a lock-picking skill of at least 41 to open the treasure chest in Fiama.

Also, the ability of the Mani Faith is good for the boss of Nymelle, so if you haven't beaten it yet, it's a good idea to try it while you're still in the Mani Faith.

Jure of Healing

In the sense that if you have enough time, you can collect junk offerings without doing anything, it's easy, but if you try to actively collect it, it suddenly becomes very difficult.

Talk to the Defender and the Holy Lance about what they want, and try to put it off as long as possible.

Offering

Devote the junk that has accumulated in your Home, and supplement the rest with bone meal or bread made from kumiho.

Devote 15 of each type of junk that weighs 1.0s or more, such as empty cans, and 30 of each type of junk that weighs less than 1.0s or bread.

Things I want to do before converting

Since you get a bonus to your cooking skill, it might be a good idea to have a high-level recipe ready.

However, you can also get cooking bonuses from ★Fish Slayer (Replica) and ★Kumiromi Sythe, so it's not that essential.

Horome of Moonshadow

It's more efficient to collect Horome, Izpalt, and Yevan offerings as a set when exploring Nefia.

In general, it is not recommended to buy equipment for offerings at the weapon shop, as it is expensive. It is more profitable to buy a Dodo and a Bartender with that budget and collect meat.

Offerings

Buy rods from magic shops and sorcerers. The goal is 300 rods.

While waiting for them to restock, dive into Nefia and collect magic rods and long swords.

If you don't mind doing simple tasks, you can also earn influence through requests and have the shop restock its inventory.

In the case of the healer in Palmia, around four rods will be lined up with each restock. If you restock around 70 times, you will have gathered the required number.

Things I want to do before converting

Convert the altars and mass-produce the Moonshadow Altar, then take it back. Unless you have gathered it during Ehekatl.

The Moonshadow Altar is made of Dawn cloth, so it's easy to carry around, and it's also valuable, so it's a good way to make money.

Due to being minor gods, backer gods don't have randomly generated altars. If you want to have an altar of said god to decorate your base, make sure to secure an altar and convert it.

Itzpalt of Element

Offering

Offer 6 ancient books 30 times. You can get ancient books by fishing.

If you don't have enough, buy Naughty books from vending machines in Aquli Teola, Port Kapul, and Palmia.

Although they are slightly less valuable (4 points), it's also a good idea to buy spellbooks.

The price of spellbooks varies greatly depending on the type of spell, so it's easier to keep track of your budget if you finish the expensive Horome faith first.

Things to do before converting

If you haven't defeated the boss of the Vernis Mine, you should try challenging him while you are still a believer of the fire-resistant Izpalt.

Yevan of Strife

Unlike other gods, Yevan requires combat ability in order to collect offerings, so he is a tough god for players who have made it through the previous faith marathons by gathering and producing only.

If you are a player who is not a melee player and is only interested in collecting, then Yevan is probably not a priority for you, so you should wait until later in the game when you are stronger.

Offering

A single piece of Granite Breastplate is worth about 3.5 points. You will need roughly 135 pieces to get to Militant, and 270 to get to Warmonger.

If you just want to get to Militant, you should be able to manage with your current stock of materials and a little extra, but if you try to get to Warmonger with just Breastplate, you are going to be in agony.

So I went into Nefia. I gathered up body armor, a longsword, and an axe, and took control of the altar I found in Nefia as well.

Once the danger level exceeds the 25th floor, light and poor-quality materials such as grass and straw stop appearing, and the proportion of heavy metal equipment increases, so efficiency improves dramatically.

Also, although it's not Yevan's favorite (in a way it is), it's also good to accept war requests many times in Aquli Teola.

There is a Yevan altar in the city, so you can immediately offer the corpses you've collected.

If you want to get the prises of Yevan early on, you should at least secure an altar for conversion using the Ehkatl faith or the Golden Knight.

If you take over an altar with a stone breastplate, you will get 20 points. If you take over 60 altars, you will reach the Warmonger.

Things to do before converting

Due to being minor gods, backer gods don't have randomly generated altars. If you want to have an altar of said god to decorate your base, make sure to secure an altar and convert it.

Kizuami of Trickery

It's tough, really tough.

The points for noodle dishes, rice dishes and daggers are all low, and there is no easy way to collect them.

Offerings

To cut to the chase, ignore Kizuami's favorite foods and offer him meat.

If you really want to stick to his favorite food, you can use the following methods.

  • Farm, duplicate, or gather rice and wheat in Yowyn or Mifu Village without permission, and prepare 900 noodle and rice dishes.
    • If you want to make noodle dishes, you need to dig 900 pieces of rock salt from the sea, but if you want to make rice dishes, you only need to gather 900 pieces of wheat or rice, but the required number will be double the amount of noodles, 1800 pieces.
  • Break down the bread made from crim powder and bone powder with a hammer, and reload it until you get noodles.
    • Sadly, it is more than three times more productive to grow crim, bake crim powder bread, break it down, and convert it into noodles than to grow rice and process it into rice.
  • Time to break down the Machinarium ruins. However, since the hammer breaking process is sandwiched in twice, there is a lot of loss
    • 1200 scraps should be enough
  • If you remember the recipe for ramen, you can mix heavy fish into the noodles to bulk them up
    • You need a lot of cooking skill to come up with a recipe for ramen. By the time you get an idea, the relay may have ended.
  • You can run away with heavy vegetables by requesting a harvest, and then mix them into salad pasta, etc. to bulk them up
    • If you run off with the vegetables, your karma will decrease, but if you bring your own cooking utensils and cook them on the harvest map, you will not be punished
    • However, the amount you mix in must be at least 1.0s (2 points).

Things to do before converting

Due to being minor gods, backer gods don't have randomly generated altars. If you want to have an altar of said god to decorate your base, make sure to secure an altar and convert it.
