By storing items in containers, you can carry many items with you or store them at your base.
Overview
Different types of containers have different capacities and weights, and some containers have special effects.
For containers that do not have the capacity to hold items, such as trash bins, see the Facility or Furniture page.
Container List
For specific craft recipes, see the Craft page.
Wrenches for common storage which can be exchanged at Miral and Garokk's Workshop can be used on ground containers to extend the width and height by one line each.
Common containers
The symbols in the “Passing” column indicate the following
◎: Passable as if it were an empty tile
○: Passable as if overcoming its container
×: Impassable
The ship ladder has the effect of removing the impassable setting of the tile on which it is placed, so if a container is in the way of passage, you may want to use it.

A storage chest is a warehouse-type container that has a huge capacity in one box.
In addition to the UI that assists with large-scale management such as page division and item filtering, it also has the property that the weight of the box does not change no matter how many items are added.
Using the wrenches of storage upgrade for storage chest, the capacity can be increased by 20, but the power consumption also increases by 4 MW.
Also, when modified with the Wrench of cooler upgrade for storage chest, it can be turned into a ★Cooler Storage chest, which can be used as a huge refrigerator for storing raw food without it decaying.
Storage chest can be obtained through the main quest, or by exchanging small medals at Miral and Garokk's Workshop.
Storage chests can only be used in your lands.
Container Config
You can configure detailed settings for each container from “Config” of each container.
Items that can be set (example)
- Sorting
- You can set sorting conditions for containers. If “Always sort” is checked, items will be sorted every time they are put in and out.
- Sorting criteria are the same for all containers, but if you enable “Settings > Games > Record sort mode for each container”, you can sort differently for each container.
- Category sorting
- When an item is automatically placed into a container, you can set what items the container will accept. For example, to set a container as a wallet that only holds currency.
- When a PC picks up an item, you can put it in any of the containers you own, or in the case of shared containers in a base, you can decide which items are put in which containers by the residents.
- Priority
- You can set the priority of using containers on a level from 0 to 20. When multiple containers are applicable to an item, it will be placed in the container with the highest priority.
- Category
- Set the category of items to be accepted, such as “Resources” or “Food,” in the form of a check. (If you check the “Advanced sorting” checkbox, you can specify even more detailed categories.
- Filter by word
- You can filter items by specifying partial item names. (For details, please refer to “Filter by Word”.)
- Other conditions
- You can also specify other conditions or characteristics, such as “only allow rotting items” or “don't allow rotting items”. (Further conditions may be available depending on the type of container.
- Only items that pass all of the categories, filter by word, and other criteria will be placed in that container.
- Automatic Sorting
- You can place the container at a location and determine the criteria for what items will be accepted when the container is auto-refiled.
- If you choose “stack on top of items in container”, only items that already contain the exact same item and can be stacked will be accepted.
- If you choose to “put in items that match the category of the item in the container,” only items that match the category of the item already in the container will be accepted.
- Example: If a container contains only “Blueberries”, it will accept “Fruits”. The parent category of “Fruits”, “Food”, will not be accepted.
- Use sorting settings” will use the sorting settings in the automatic sorting.
- Number of columns of containers
- You can change the ratio of vertical and horizontal columns of containers to change the shape of your inventory.
- Modification of width and height by wrenches is not affected by this setting.
- Permissions
- Can be toggled between “Private” and “Shared”. When set to “Shared”, the container can be used by pets and base dwellers. See "Shared Container" for details.
- Anchor
- Anchor appear only when “Settings > Games > Show Advanced Menu” is enabled. This setting is the same as the widget anchor.
Word Filter
There are multiple ways to write the settings for filtering by word, and you can use them differently or combine them for effective distribution.
- Normal entry (write as is)
- This is a whitelist method that only accepts items that are the subject of a sorting category and whose name is a partial match to this entry.
- Only accept items that are in the sorting category and whose name partially matches this entry. Example: If the sorting category is “food” and the word filter is “blueberry,” only “food” items with “blueberry” in the name will be accepted.
- Prefix the word with “-”.
- Exclude items with names that partially match this entry, even if they are in the sorting category Example: If the sorting category is “junk” and the word filter is “-grave”, only “junk” with no “grave” in the name will be accepted
- Put a “+” at the beginning of the word
- Items whose names partially match this entry will be accepted, even if they are not eligible for the “category.” In addition, items blacklisted with “-” as described above will also be passed through. (However, we will not ignore other sorting conditions, such as “only include items that are going through decomposition”)
- Accept items whose name partially matches this entry, even if they are not in the “category”. (Other sorting conditions, such as “only include items that are decomposing” will not be ignored. Example: If the sorting category is “Resources” and the word filter is “+Abrasives”, then any item with “Resources” or “Abrasives” in the name will be accepted.
- Enclose the word with “” or '.
- Even if there is a modifier such as “+” or “-” at the beginning of the enclosed word, it will be interpreted as a normal character instead of the above meaning.
- If the enclosed word has a modifier such as “+” or “-”, it will be interpreted as part of the item name instead of the above meaning. Example: If the filter is “”+“”, it will accept items with a “+” in the name, such as an enhancement value.
- If the modifier you want to be recognized as a normal character is not at the beginning of a word, you do not need to enclose it in “” or “'”; it will be treated as a normal character after the second character.
- Example: If the sorting category is “mushroom” and the word filter is “-+”, only “mushroom” without “+” is accepted
- Separate words with “,”.
- Each word before and after the “,” is treated as a separate word, allowing you to filter for compound word designations.
- Any number of words may be specified, but there is a 100-character limit on the word filter itself for each container
- If there are multiple “normal entries” or “+”, the word filter will allow a partial match to any one word.
- If there is more than one “-”, the word filter will deny the word filter if there is a partial match to any one of the words.
- Items matching both allowed and denied words will be rejected
- For example: “fertilized eggs,-fertilized goose eggs” will accept “fertilized eggs” in general, but reject items with “fertilized goose eggs”.
If you possess or place a container with “shared” permissions in your base, pets and residents will access it and take the following actions.
- Securing food
- They will take cooked food out of the container and store it in their own container, and then eat it when they get hungry.
- They will not take uncooked food. If it is a food category, they will take it even if it is not their own.
- Base residents will procure food from somewhere and eat it even if you leave them alone, but if you feed them strong food, they will grow more efficiently, just like PCs and pets. Each person can only keep up to two items of food in their own container. If you want to give them more, you'll need to trade with them directly.
- Updating equipment
- When you find equipment that looks better than your own, take it out and equip it, and send your old equipment to the shared container instead You can't really control who takes what, but it's a handy way to boost the fighting strength of the base's residents.
- If you don't want a character to change their equipment on their own, you can talk to them and ask them to “Actually...” to prevent them from updating their equipment on an individual basis.
- Replenishing combat supplies
- Take out blankets, potions, and other consumable items that are useful in combat and store them in your own container.
- Consumption of supplies needed for production activities
- Consume supplies needed for the activities you are in charge of at the right time, such as treasure maps for treasure hunting or grass for breeding.
- Delivery of products
- Deliver items produced by residents, such as fish caught or crops harvested through Delegated farming.
- Depending on specific conditions, such as when there is no shared container available, items may be placed directly on the floor or sent to a shipping box. The detailed behavior differs depending on the production activity
- Notes
- Residents can access shared containers that have been placed, even if they are not directly adjacent to them
- Pets that are accompanying the PC can access shared containers that have not been placed, but are in the PC's possession
- When an NPC places an item in a shared container, the destination of the item is completely determined by the sorting settings of all the shared containers that can be accessed
- All sorting settings are obeyed, including “filter by word” etc.
- Normally, containers with contents cannot be placed in other containers, but treasure chests found during treasure hunts can be placed in containers as an exception.
- Containers for collecting rubbish, such as containers for combustible rubbish, can be used to dispose of rubbish according to the container, regardless of the sharing status.
