Food can have a variety of traits, which further affect the Attributes gained from eating them.
Food can have a variety of traits, which are displayed as meat icons on the tooltip. Food traits affect the Attributes gained from eating them.

For a simplified list of ingredients by Attribute & Potential growth, see <u>this page.</u>
In addition, there are also item traits that do not fall under the category of food traits, but which will have an effect when eaten.

In addition to traits that affect the growth of elements and potentials, homemade food may be given quality traits, with better quality food increasing the experience and potentials gained.<!-- TRAITS TABLE STARTS HERE -->
For example, quality traits have the effect of increasing the attributes and potential you gain from food.

|}Note: Food with the Adam trait cannot be duplicated by Kettle. Unlike regular food, Kettle only dupes Bug Mix and Aphrodisiac food with 1 unit per item, making it very inefficient.

Nutrition
Note: The effects of  【Aphrodisiac Mix】 and【Bug Mix】 occur independently, so characters who eat food containing both may drop multiple eggs or milk.
Food has a set nutritional parameter.

Nutrition is the amount by which satiety is restored, as well as the multiplier by which experience is added to abilities and potentials. For example, a food with a nutritional value of 20 will restore twice as much satiety and gain twice as much experience as a food with a nutritional value of 10. The nutritional content of homemade food varies depending on the nutritional content of each ingredient.
Non-food traits
Item traits that are not classified as food traits (not meat icons), but which have an effect when eaten or affect the performance of the food.
Eating a meal in the Hungry or worse state provides a 10% food effect bonus. Conversely, if you exceed your satiety level by eating extremely nutritious food, the excess nutrition is ignored. (Details unknown. Need to verify)

The nutrition you get from the food crafted with the gourmet 3 feat is compressed (nutrition -10%, food effect +5%), so you can get the benefits of a meal without straining your stomach.

Decay
Food made of raw materials loses its freshness over time and eventually spoils.

Food that has completely rotted is given the<span style="color:#6f0000;">【Stinky】</span>(Perception Lv. -2), and eating it will have negative effects such as suffering from status abnormalities or receiving negative experience for your attribute.

If the food is still in the stale stage, it can be cooked to regain its freshness, but if the food is completely rotten, it will produce rotten food even if it is cooked.

Blessing/Curse
Blessed food increases the food effect, while cursed food decreases the food effect. Unlike Elona, eating cursed food does not cause vomiting.

Also, in Elin, blessed/cursed food no longer occurs naturally. If you want them, you need to intentionally bless or curse the food by mixing it with blessed/cursed water, or using blessed/cursed milk if the dish uses milk as an ingredient.

Cannibalism
If you eat meat with the [Cannibalism] trait, you may gain the Cannibalism feat.

This feat increases the food effect of food with the [Cannibalism] trait, and decreases the food effect of food without it.

The duration of this feat is shorter than in Elona, so you will probably get tired of the taste of human flesh after a few meals and return to your old life.

Meat and Egg
The traits of meat and eggs depend on the race of the monster or NPC that dropped them.

The following are meat and egg traits that do not originate from the monster, obtained by dismantling the dish or otherwise, and the actual meat and eggs will have the respective dietary traits of the monster added to them.

Rice and Dough (flour, noodles, powdered medicine etc.)
Dough is the generic term for flour, bread dough, noodles, and powdered drugs.

The traits of store-bought doughs, noodles, and rice will be as follows.

If you make your own using millstone, the traits will come from what the ingredients had, but the highest level is inherited instead of being combined with the same trait, as in cooking.

Seasonings and Herbs
In Fortune Bell, condiments with 【Premium Quality】 can be redeemed for casino chips.
The only difference is the quality; the other food traits are the same as the regular ones.
Herbs in Elin are medicinal herbs with traits that restore status abnormality and can also be used as seasonings.
Unlike Elona's herbs, eating it does not gain experience to the main attribute or latent ability.
It is effective when eaten as is, but can also be crafted to make a bandage with medicinal properties.

Homemade cheese inherits the traits of the original food, and adds <span style="color:#6f0000;">【Stinky】</span>.
Dishes
<big>Main Page: Cooking</big>
Foods can be cooked to develop their attributes and their potential more efficiently.
Some dishes can use more than one ingredient, making them excellent food with many food traits.
You can create your own dishes to match the main attributes you want to develop, and you can also buy dishes made with various ingredients at stores.
When the gourmet Feat reaches rank 2, additional seasonings can be added to some dishes.
The nutritional content of homemade dishes varies depending on the nutritional content of each ingredient.
* Some dishes have "Additional Traits” that are automatically added during crafting, separate from the traits of the ingredients. You can check the additional traits on the crafting window.
* Dishes initially generated without a store or cookware, such as those located in town, have their own nutritional and food traits
* Only negative traits, such as [Harmful Substance] for take-out pizza, will be given to your own creations as well!

Notes
|More profitable to directly turn into wine instead of bonito flakes.
Cooking by Fire Damage

Some foods will be cooked when they are destroyed by fire. The quality of the finished product will be higher depending on the strength of the fire.

Can be cooked: meat, fish, fruit, nuts, dough, rice, egg, Imo

Cannot be cooked(just be destroyed): vegetables other than Imo, seasonings, powdered medicine

Microwave Egg Bomb

If you cook an egg in a microwave oven, it will sometimes explode, blowing up the surrounding objects and creatures.

The power of the explosion will be stronger depending on the quality of the egg and the player's cooking skills.

The eggs of unique NPCs have a large bonus to their quality, so when they explode, they can be very dangerous.

Cooking Fiasco

If you fail to cook a dish that uses fire, there is a small chance that a fire will break out from the cooking utensils.

If a fire breaks out, don't panic and try to put it out by throwing potions or spraying water with a watering can.

Failed Dishes
If you cook a dish while your cooking skill has not reached the required level for the recipe, these will sometimes take the place of the dish you want to make.

Eating them has only a negative effect, so use a hammer to demolish them.

Rice and Dough (flour, noodles, powdered medicine, etc.)
Dough is the generic term for flour, bread dough, noodles, and powdered drugs. Note that rice is a grain, not a dough.

The traits of store-bought doughs, noodles, and rice will be as follows. These ingredients can be bought from Rodwyn the witch with unique additional stats like【Cat】,【Bug Mix】,【Venom】,【Fatten up】 and similar.

* For details on self-made grains, see Cooking.
* Only powdered medicines with any food effects are listed here. If you want to see all the powders, see Potions.

Seasonings and Herbs
For details on self-made seasonings, see Cooking.

Failed Dishes
If you cook a dish while your cooking skill has not reached the required level for the recipe, these will sometimes take the place of the dish you want to make.

Eating them has only a negative effect, so put them in a compost box to make fertilizer or use a hammer to demolish them.

The player's main source of stat growth and stat potentials comes from Food.

For recipes, please see the Cooking page.

Overview

Food Traits

Food can have a variety of traits, which are displayed as meat icons on the tooltip. Food traits affect the Attributes gained from eating them.

In addition, there are also item traits that do not fall under the category of food traits, but which will have an effect when eaten.

For example, quality traits have the effect of increasing the attributes and potential you gain from food.

Food Traits (Unique)

These traits are displayed in light blue text, and have a unique effect.

The gourmet 1 feat is required to view unique food traits. This also applies to Rodwyns shop.

Food Traits (Unique)
Trait Type Food Source Effect
Rich Collagen Collagenic Slime Race's Corpse or Meat +Charisma XP in addition to other food traits.
Slim Down Weight Loss Catechin Character loses Weight (currently no purpose)
Fatten Up Weight Gain Protein Character gains Weight (currently no purpose)
Never Decay N/A Preservative, Dishes with Preservative Food does not go stale or rot.
Slightly Slow Decay N/A Rodwyn's breads and doughs Slows the rate of going stale and rotting.
Venom Mix Venom Food blended with poison Causes poison damage, which can be reduced by poison element resistance.

The trait level is enhanced according to the number of poisons mixed.

Aphrodisiac Mix Love Food blended with love potion Has a random effect: Increase Affinity (roughly +20); Spawn egg(very rarely fertilized) or milk on the ground ; No effect.

Nutrition does not seem to matter. There is no cooldown. The trait level is enhanced according to the number of love potions mixed.

The number of crafts that get multiple final products is always 1 (excluding Bonito Flakes).

Bug Mix Love Food blended with dream larva Currently, works the same as Aphrodisiac Mix.

The trait level is enhanced according to the number of dream larvas mixed.

The number of crafts that get multiple final products is always 1 (excluding Bonito Flakes).

Sliced N/A Food made from Slice of fish When it is disassembled with a hammer, the nameless slice of fish drops out.
Cat Cat Cat corpse or egg Karma -5, even if an companion eats it.
Human Flesh N/A Humanoid Corpse Increase insanity, chanceto gain Cannibalism feat (non-humanoid food effectiveness -50%. Humanoid food effectiveness +50%).
Tainted N/A Undead Corpse Always treated as rotten. (Still digestible with "Digest rotten food with ease" enchantment)
Adam N/A Little Sister's Corpse Increase base potential of attributes by +5, +5, +4, +4, +3, +3, +2, +2 and then +1 each. Caps at a total of +50 (30 eats totald).

The number of crafts that get multiple final products is always 1 (ex. Gelatin).

(Chaos Shape only: Gain Adam feat.)

God N/A God’sCorpse or egg Increase base potential of attributes by 2 (up to 20). Decrease Faith skill exp. by 1000 (exactly 1 level). Can be duped with Kettle. verify

Note: Food with the Adam trait cannot be duplicated by Kettle. Unlike regular food, Kettle only dupes Bug Mix and Aphrodisiac food with 1 unit per item, making it very inefficient.

Note: The effects of 【Aphrodisiac Mix】 and【Bug Mix】 occur independently, so characters who eat food containing both may drop multiple eggs or milk.

Non-food traits

Item traits that are not classified as food traits (not meat icons), but which have an effect when eaten or affect the performance of the food.

Trait Type Food Source Effect
Fair Quality, Tarnished etc. Quality Homemade dishes, improved crops, etc. Enhancement of food traits (attributes and potencies)

See the item for the correspondence between trait names and quality levels.

Hemostasis Cure Bleeding Red herb Cures Bleeding
Bleeding Cure Bleeding Machine's egg Unidentified. The eggs of machines have the【bleeding】 trait, but it has no special effects when you eat it.
Antidote Cure Poison Blue herb Cures Poison
Poison Cure Poison Red Mushroom Inflict Poisoned, which can be nullified with poison immunity.
Calming Mental Serenity Purple herb, Bone powder Cures insanity and hallucination, grants a state of Peace of Mind
Hallucinogenic Mental Serenity White Mushroom, Crim Powder Causes hallucinations.
Waking Anti Sleep Coffee beans Grants Sharpened Mind state. No longer sleepy, immune to sleep, prevents recovery of stamina due to 【Energizing】
Energizing Stamina Recovery Cappuccino, Ramune Restores Stamina. Amount of recovery depends on maximum stamina.
Just Prepared Food Effect

Gift Value

Dishes cooked by a player with traveling chef feat. +10% Food Effect, +50% Value as a gift to npc or as an offering to God.

After a few hours, this trait disappears. You can extend the duration of a trait by raising traveling chef feat rank.

It is not carried over to duplicate products.

Well Roasted Nutrition Meat on the bone, Skewer of grilled fish Increases nutrition. The tooltip displays the nutritional value with the correction due to this trait
Warm Hot Spring Effect Hot spring eggs cooked in hot spring Grants a state of Harmony of Soul.

Nutrition

Food has a set nutritional parameter.

Nutrition is the amount by which satiety is restored, as well as the multiplier by which experience is added to abilities and potentials. For example, a food with a nutritional value of 20 will restore twice as much satiety and gain twice as much experience as a food with a nutritional value of 10. The nutritional content of homemade food varies depending on the nutritional content of each ingredient.

Having the state of Hungry / Very Hungry / Starving increases the food effect by a further 10%. Conversely, if you exceed your satiety level by eating extremely nutritious food, the excess nutrition is ignored. verify

The nutrition you get from the food crafted with the gourmet 3 feat is compressed (nutrition -10%, food effect +5%), so you can get the benefits of a meal without straining your stomach.

Designated dining areas found within owned settlements will boost the food effect by a further 10%.

Blessing food will boost it's effect by 50%. Likewise cursing will reduce it by 50%.

Decay

Food made of raw materials loses its freshness over time and eventually spoils.

Completely rotten food reduces the PER exp. food trait by 1 level, and eating it will have negative effects such as suffering from status abnormalities or receiving negative experience for your attribute.

If the food is still in the stale stage, it can be cooked to regain its freshness, but if any ingredient is rotten, it will produce rotten food even if it is cooked.

Blessing/Curse

Blessed food increases the food effect by 50%. Cursed food decreases the food effect.

Cannibalism

If you eat meat with the【Human Flesh】 trait, you may gain the Cannibalism feat.

This feat increases the food effect of food by 50% with the【Human Flesh】 trait, and decreases the food effect of food without it.

The duration of this feat is shorter than in Elona, a few meals without the【Human Flesh】 trait will remove the Cannibalism feat.

In addition, dishes sold and produced for job/ hobby by NPCs with cannibalism feats may have the【Human Flesh】 trait.

Foods by Type

This section contains tables with descriptions, not sortable tables. For sortable and references, see: Elin:Cooking.

See Food/Monster Food Traits for the meat and egg meal trait bonuses for each monster.

Fish

There is a low chance of catching high-grade fish with prefixes.

These fish have higher food traits than normal fish and qualities that normal fish do not have, but higher-grade fish have the 【High Purity】 trait and cannot be duplicated.

The First Catch feat increases the chance of catching a high-grade fish during your first five casts of the day.

 • The multiplier for traits is rounded up.

 • For details on self-made grains, see Cooking.
 • Only powdered medicines with any food effects are listed here. If you want to see all the powders, see Potions.

Seasonings and Herbs

For details on self-made seasonings, see Cooking.

Failed Dishes

If you cook a dish while your cooking skill has not reached the required level for the recipe, these will sometimes take the place of the dish you want to make.

Eating them has only a negative effect, so put them in a compost box to make fertilizer or use a hammer to demolish them.

Note: The food item after hammering will be of the same material as the dish. Found and bought dishes are made of processed food, therefore the raw ingredients will not rot.

Manufactured Goods

Edible decorations, Preserved food bought from NPCs, and Raw food stuffs.

Note: Nutrition values are shown for the default food items you can find and buy, not the ones crafted by the player.

Note on Rot:

 • No: Does not rot
 • Yes: Rots on its own.
 • (Yes): Does not rot unless put into a processing container (Aging Rack, Drying Brick, Brewery Barrel, ...).
