As you increase your affinity and become friends with NPCs, you will be able to invite them to your home. As of the Beta version, you cannot marry pets or NPCs even if you increase their affinity.
Affinity level
You can check the affinity with an NPC by talking to them.
You can also check the general affinity with an NPC by looking at the heart icon that appears on the resident board or when you hold a brush in your hand if the NPC is in a state where you can brush them.
The detailed breakdown is still being investigated, but the experience points for feats will be adjusted according to the affinity of the ally or resident (-50% to +100%).
The affinity of the residents also affects the efficiency of their Job and Hobbies.

Green | You can recruit NPCs (including summons) if your Charisma is higher than their highest stat. Unique NPCs and adventurers have to be challenged first.
You can retrieve your pet's equipment without penalty (excluding orens and gifted items). |

Increase/decrease in Affinity
- The amount of affinity gained depends on the action and affinity value before the interaction. The further aways from 0 the affinity change aims, the smaller the change. For example: Gifting an value 5.000 engagement ring at 0 affinity might increase affinity by 60 points, while gifting it at 500 might increase it by 5.
An action that randomly increases or decreases affinity
- Chat by saying "Let's talk." (-4 to +4)
- Do what feels good (-5~ +5)
- Use brush
Actions that increase affinity
- A pet defeats an enemy (+1)
- Use Horome faith ability “Head pat” (+1~3)
- Give target's favorite item
- Challenge and win (+10)
- Give target's favorite dish (+20, If it has the 【Just Prepared】trait, the amount will increase)
- Feed them food mixed with aphrodisiac/dream larva (+25)
- The more you mix, the more the effect increases
- Use the One hour arm pillow ticket(+30)
- Give the naughty book to the subject
- Gifting the engagement ring or necklace
- Shear (+1-3)
- Fulfill a Quest the NPC gave you
Actions that reduce affinity
- Is Pet, Companion, Livestock or Resident and dies for any reason (-10)
- The player and their party defeat the resident or livestock (-10)
- Get caught gifting an aphrodisiac/dream larva directly to that NPC or using the dream larva ability on them and get caught (-20verify)
- Trying to take away the engagement ring or necklace. (-30)
- Fiama: Talk to her while a companion is dead (She will resurrect it for free, but lowers affinity by 20)
Remarks:
- If you chat, brush, play music or headpat, 1-3 points of the target's interest level will be consumed. Without interest points playing music has no effect (except waking them up) and "lets talk" is disabled. Headpatting won't have any effect. Interest points regenerate gradually when you are not on the map.
- NPCs prefer one type of item and one type of food. There is a low chance that an NPC's favorite food will be told to you while chatting or mumbled in their sleep. You can also learn about their favorite foods from their status, which can be checked with a stethoscope.
- Aphrodisiac is an attribute of love potions (rarely sold by drug dealer in Port Kapul and extremly rarely by Vending Machines and general goods merchant) and (commonly) randomly of food from Rodwyn.
- Dream Larvae can be obtained by using the succubus' special ability.
- Rodwyn, the witch (not a unique NPC) in Mysilia, occasionally sells bread that has the effects of [Aphrodisiac] or [Bug Mix]. You need the gourmet feat to see these traits.
Affinity bonuses
You can get a bonus to the affinity rolls if you:
- (Only for NPCs in the player's base) Increase the level of the Home Skill “Local Patriotism"
- Brush yourself for the washed status or use the toilet/bathtub for the clean status, or soak in a hot spring.
Recruiting Special NPCs
- You will need to progress through their respecting quests to a certain extent in order to recruit NPCs related to the story such as Ashland and Fiama.
- (If you have not progressed through the story, you will be told that there is something you still need to do and will be turned down.)
- In addition, Big Sister and unique guild-related NPCs cannot be recruited. (Receptionists, guild gatekeepers, guild masters, etc.)
- Guild trainers can be recruited, but will switch their unique training skills against generic ones.
