Overview
Simple, pious folk of the land. The farmer is a class for players who wish to explore the slow life aspect of the game - production and crafting. While capable of simple combat to fend off monsters that wander onto their lands, farmers can also take advantage of the fruits of their labour to aid them in their martial pursuits.
Strategy
Farmers have fewer directly useful combat skills, and their non-combat skills are all very generic and desirable by all archetypes. Because of this, race can play a bigger role in what sort of path they go down.
To make the most of the innate gardening and cooking skills at the core of this class, it is assumed that farmers will worship Kumiromi and grow crops. High farming skill is central to producing high-quality crops to be cooked into nutritious, stat-boosting meals. Farmers should grow a variety of crops to fit as many nutritional needs as possible; grains, fruit, vegetables and nuts should all be grown, and it's recommended that farmers get started as soon as possible. Seeds can be acquired by sickling the crops in various towns, or can be purchased from Mifu Village.
Early-game farmers should avoid combat and instead seek to fulfil non-combat quests. Eventually, they can become quite strong because of all the good food their primary skills produce; what farmers can become depends on what they've been growing and eating all this while.
Farming legs reduces stamina expenditure of all kinds - not just from working, but also crafting, divine actions, triggering death protection, and more. While gourmet can be acquired by everyone as a level-up feat, it still saves a feat point which can be spent elsewhere.
