Irreversible choices

In Elin, there are very few irreversible choices, the character creation at the start of the game and a quest.

Unlike Elona, there are no disadvantages to progressing through the story, and in fact, as you progress through the story, you will unlock a series of convenient services, so be sure to actively progress through the story.

Character creation

In Elin, your race and class determine your starting potential, and your attributes that are easy to raise will vary.

In addition, because classes now have feats and special magic elements (domains), choosing a class is more important than in Elona.

For this reason, character creation that only focuses on skills, such as choosing a class like a pianist even though you are a spellcaster, is no longer effective.

I won't talk about which races, classes, or domains are strong here, because this game is still being updated and balanced.

Please look at the individual pages on the wiki and other user guides to find the combination that suits your play style.

If I had to say, the creator has announced that they will be making balance adjustments to the magic elements (domains), so you might want to focus on the class feats rather than the domains when choosing your class.

Home Quest: “Negotiation with Darkness”

A quest in the Sunken Temple of Lurie.

This quest has two main paths: one where you bring back his pet as Bicerin requested, and one where you defeat it outright.

Choosing the wrong path will result in losing the character who was supposed to become a resident of the Village of Atonement.

Hint

This is a strategy hint that avoids spoilers. For more specific steps, please refer to the Home Quest guide.

  • First, observe the situation. We recommend using the Whisle of peace to prevent your pet from interfering.
    • If you don't have the Whisle of peace, simply watching from afar using Telepathy spell + Binoculars will still satisfy the event's conditions.
  • If it becomes clear that bringing it back is difficult, return to Bicerin to report and discuss the situation.

If you end up killing it

The game automatically saves when you defeat the boss, so you'll need to restore from a backup to retry.

Fortunately or unfortunately, the damage from losing an NPC in this quest is relatively minor.

  • You will obtain all the figures, cards, and ★Artifacts it was equipped with.
  • The quest reward remains unchanged regardless of the outcome.
  • The character you killed won't return, but if you look carefully around the map where they were, you might find an item related to Bicerin's pet.

Other minor elements

  • Some ★Artifacts cannot be reacquired. They will not be destroyed, but if you leave them behind on a map that has been regenerated, they will disappear.
  • The reward you select from the Quest Future Targets can't be changed, but all of the rewards (or something similiar to them) can be obtained though other means

"Reversible" choices

I shouldn't have started with an oath...

It must be hard to be at the mercy of the goddess of fortune. You can easily change the oath you have made.

You can set the difficulty from the “World Law” menu in the system menu, which can be opened by pressing the Esc key.

You can break the Oath you have set or set it again.

I recruited a unique NPC before getting their figure and card!

Let's banish them for now. Don't worry, they'll be back on the map where they were. Once you've got their figure and card, recruit them again.

Alternatively, if your affinity with them is “*Love* (200)” or higher, they will give you a figure and card as a gift without being exiled.

I missed getting Loytel and Farris's figure and card!

Don't panic. There was never a chance to get their figure and card by killing them in the first place.

NPCs like Poppy and Farris, who can be rescued in Nefia, are immortal and cannot be defeated in the first place.

Your allies and residents do not drop figures or cards, so you will not have the opportunity to kill allies who join you through Home Quests.

If you want their figures and cards, raise their affinity to “*Love* (200)” or higher. Your affinity will naturally increase as you read through quests and complete requests from them at your land, so it should not be too difficult.

I made a mistake in The Cursed Manor quest...

There is a way to remedy this...

If you pick up multiple treasures in the treasure room of Sub-quest “Haunted Manor”, for example if you don't follow the instructions, or if you find more treasures you want after picking up the first one, you will be cursed by the mansion and unable to recruit Melilith as a party member.

This curse can be cured with the ★Feather of Healing, which can be purchased for 1,000,000 Orens at the December Festival in Noyel.

Let's make up for the sin of not obeying the rule that “only one treasure may be taken back with you”, and become friends with Melilith.
