Quick and dirty early game stability guide.
Meadow Start
Talk to Fiama to receive a companion from her. Until she leaves for story reasons, she will revive this pet freely for you.
Do your initial quests from Ashland. He will give you a quest telling you that you are due to pay taxes at the end of the month.
Do accept Loytel to your land. You can make him your maid if you would like, or he can accompany you.
You can middle click him to trade, you can trade your starting shirt to him in exchange for his- which is always an immediate upgrade for the player.
Gather crim from fields early on, use the millstone in Mysilia to grind it into powder, sell the powder to the baker for a good early cash flow.
Use the training dummy at home to build your initial melee stats to a point where you can slay weak enemies, and prioritize questing in Mysilia.
The quest board only populates quests based on towns you've been in, so if you only enter Olvina (directly to the south of the Meadow) and Mysilia (southeast of the Meadow), you should be able to get quests that ask you to deliver things between the two very close locations.
Furniture tickets are the primary goal of Mysilia questing, as getting a tax box at home saves you a lot of trouble. The tax box only costs one furniture ticket.
Afterwards, use the tickets to buy the beehives in the southern half of the town and bring those home as well.
Bees produce honey based on the amount of flower tiles on your land, the ideal ratio is 5 to 6 flowers per beehive. The flowers do not need to be near the hive, and wild flowers work just as well as planted.
Honey is a non-rotting food worth a decent amount of pocket change that gives stat potentials, and each beehive produces one honey at 4 am if the ratio of flower-to-beehive is correct.
These steps allow the player to get off the ground safely, with a guaranteed source of food and income before the first tax bill arrives, and should the player fall into debt, allows the player to pay their debt without having to die on the way to the tax box in Mysilia.
Hill Cave Start
Aquili Teola is the closest town for quests, but provides no training services.
Ashland gives the player a hammer, and several pickaxes can be found strewn around the floor in the cave. This allows the player to sidestep some building progression steps, at the cost of further distance from Mysilia and no naturally spawning food inside the cave. The above steps for The Meadow are still applicable.
The player will need to create grass flooring and place them somewhere to plant yellow/white plant seeds to provide nourishment for the bees.
Otherwise, distance aside, the starting loop is very similar.
