Little is known about the Chaos Shape, also referred to as the "Deformed Ones". They barely retain a human form. Chaos shapes acquire new body parts as they grow, but what emerges is unpredictable.

Mutating Body 1 Fewer body parts; only a hand, turso, light source. More body parts can be gained in feat of body mutation.

Overview

Previously known as mutants in Elona, chaos shapes are freaks with ever-changing anatomy. Weak, deformed, and very unpleasant to the sight, most chaos shapes are doomed since birth. However, with some understanding of their cursed bodies, they may be able to turn their fortunes around.

The mechanics of chaos shapes have changed substantially since Elona. They only start with body, hand and light source slots, and while they still gain body parts upon leveling, the player needs to gain body parts through feats instead of them being automatically added; the body parts added are random. Chaos Shape may acquire up to five additional parts without penalty, but each additional part after the sixth is accompanied by a -3 life force, -5 speed, and -3 charm penalty which replaces the complicated body penalty from Elona; the cap is -45 life, -75 speed, and -45 charisma at 20 gained body parts. This penalty can be partially offset by consuming Little One flesh and gaining the ADAM trait, which stacks up to 10 and grants 2 life and 3 speed per level. Chaos shapes need not take additional body parts as they become available and instead keep their bodies as they are in order to avoid incurring further penalties.

Riding can be used to offset the loss of speed from gaining new body parts, and bonuses from ether diseases which forbid the use of body parts can be safely acquired if the chaos shape does not possess the body part in question. It's also important to note that an ether disease that forbids a body part will forbid use of all body parts of that type, instead of just one.

Approximate number of additional body parts

5 Parts

No Adam: ±0 Life, ±0 Speed, ±0 Charisma

Adam 10: +20 Life, +30 Speed, ±0 Charisma

This is the maximum number of body parts that will not be penalized by the acquisition of parts.

No matter what your playing policy is, you may take this much without hesitation.

11 parts

No Adam: -18 life, -30 speed, -18 Charisma

With Adam 10: +2 life, ±0 speed, -18 Charisma

This is the maximum number of body parts that can offset the penalties to life and speed with the maximum level of Adam.

20 parts

No Adam: -45 life, -75 speed, -45 Charisma

Adam 10: -25 life, -35 speed, -45 Charisma

All additional parts are acquired.

If you use your reloads to gain hands on all additional parts, you can create an amazing 21-hands dual-wielder Chaos Shape, including the parts you have had since the start.

List of the number of additional sites and the correction value for each level of Adam

If you would like to increase the number of parts in stages according to the level of Adam you have, as long as you do not receive any penalties, please refer to the following table.

Suggested Classes

Chaos shapes are known for their malleability; while their starting stats and potentials incline them towards magic, it's possible to make a multi-hand dual-wielder with some effort. The only discouraged archetypes are those which rely on charisma, not just because of their poor starting stats but also because of the racial feat.

Lore and Trivia

  • Chaos Shapes are not humans, so eating human flesh does not increase their insanity or risk gaining the cannibalism feat.
