The Yerls[sic], people of the rising New Kingdom in Sierra Terre, trace their lineage back to slaves who escaped from Eulderna. Harboring deep-seated hatred towards the empire and everything it represents;[sic] they have established the pinnacle of mechanical civilizations in Sierre. Gifted with a heightened learning capacity, adept in handling mechanized armaments, they acquire feats faster than any other races.

Overview

The people of a highly technological and ambitious kingdom with boundless curiosity about the world and its past, especially the scientific era of Ylva's past known as Eyth Terre. Yerles pride themselves on being studious, business-minded, quick to learn new crafts and trades, and dedicated to the understanding of ancient technologies. While they are realists and materialistic, they are also adaptable to things that are beyond their comprehension if it benefits the kingdom.

Being a largely balanced and generalist race, Yerles can be bent to suit any number of character archetypes. However, it's suggested that pure mages pick a more magically-oriented race like Eulderna or Elea, which while still relatively balanced boast better mana scores; Yerles have the fourth-lowest mana score at 90, barely managing to beat golem, snail and hillfolk. Hybrid classes like warmage are still quite viable, of course.

Base potentials of 130 in investing and negotiation allow Yerles characters to help towns flourish and reap the rewards. Having a minimum potential of 130 in marksman also makes them okay at ranged combat, with an edge in guns over bows.

Fast Learner 1 cuts the experience needed to earn each level by 20%; if a level would need 10 experience to gain, a Yerles would only need 8. Platinum coin costs of training are also decreased.

Suggested Classes

While Yerles can perform passably in any number of character archetypes, they do best in classes which take advantage of their balanced stats and marksman skill.

Lore and Trivia

  • The Yerles are a monarchy; the Queen of the Yerles features in one of the stories about Mani.
  • Perhaps the most famous Yerles is Mani, who overthrew Eyth and ascended to godhood to take his place. Many of the mechanical designs in use by the Yerles today are said to be have been pioneered by Mani.
