Elin:Anatomy

Knowledge of anatomy will improve your chances of acquiring meat from killed enemies.

Overview

The anatomy skill can be learned from the trainer in Tinker's Camp or Noyel.

Anatomy affects the chances of meat dropping from NPCs the player kills, as well as increasing the amount of meat a butchered NPC will drop. Higher levels in the skill increase the odds of obtaining marbled meat from kills.

Training Anatomy

Killing Enemies

Anatomy is primarily trained simply by killing NPCs. Exploring Nefia or completing combat-focused board requests such as Hunting or War are a simple method to kill several enemies at once. War requests become available once the player has reached 1000 fame, and feature endless waves of enemies until extraction, making them a good source of meat and an opportunity to gain anatomy experience.

Slaughtering NPCs

Butchering NPCs with a butcher knife will grant anatomy experience and a stack of meat. With the exception of unique NPCs, slaughtered NPCs are permanently lost. A unique NPC killed in this manner will resurrect after 2 months of in-game time.

A good source of livestock is to find wild, neutral-alignment animals that will not attack the player on sight and use a brush on them to raise their affinity. There is a chance this will enrage the subject, causing them to attack you, so the player should only attempt to brush NPCs they are capable of killing until they have sufficient armor/combat skills. Once an animal's affinity has been sufficiently raised, they will become tame and join the player as a resident of their base, allowing you to slaughter them with a butcher's knife.

Wild animals will periodically wander into the player's base, making it a good place to attempt taming, since they will remain on the map and retain any changes to their affinity until tamed or killed. Towns and settlements are other good places to procure livestock via taming. Once a player's Taming skill has been sufficiently leveled, they can also brush and recruit NPCs in Nefia and wilderness tiles.

If the player has extra orens to spend, visiting an animal tamer and purchasing animals to slaughter is an easy (but potentially expensive) method to obtain meat and anatomy experience. Animal tamers can be found in Derphy, Mysilia, Yowyn, Fortune Bell, and Doga Ruins Camp. They can also recruited via the quest board or purchased from a slave master.

Hammer Alchemy

Hammer Alchemy is the art of disassembling items with a hammer to convert them to something else. A large amount of corpses can be obtained with this method, then processed at a Butcher's Tool for rapid skill gain.

  • Collect flowers. Flowers can be grown by the player or picked in the wild: forest and grassland tiles and nefia are a good source.
  • Drop the flowers on the ground and use a hammer to disassemble them into leaves made of raw food.
  • Use the Quick Craft menu to create makeshift arrows out of the raw food leaves.
  • Deposit the makeshift arrows in a compost box and wait for them to decompose into fertilizer.
  • Remove the fertilizer and hammer them into corpses made of soil.
  • Use a Butcher's Tool to process the corpses, disassembling them.
  • Optional: deposit hearts and grotesque offal into the compost box to make more fertilizer.

Notes:

  • Attempting to disassemble a large stack of objects can kill the player if they have insufficient stamina. The player should test how much stamina is consumed by disassembling smaller stacks to determine how many objects can be safely destroyed at a time.
  • Some items will be destroyed when hammered. Raising the base's hearthstone level will reduce the amount lost.
