Elin:Bestiary/Slime/Snow Putit(Golden)
Main article: Bestiary
Golden Snow Putits are a rare variant of Snow Putit that can be found in snow, beach and sea biomes, and are Elin's primary source of gold fibers, a high value textile. Much like Bells, Golden Snow Putits will flee after several turns, requiring quick action to either shear, capture, or kill them for gold bars. If sleeping pills are not used, they will likely flee before a player can finish shearing them.
How to capture the Golden Snow Putit
If the player's goal is to capture a Golden Snow Putit for their ranch, the following items/spells are recommended depending upon the strategy they intend to use:
- Telepathy Spell for its ability( to display a Putit's presence/location on the map)
- Binocular (combined with Telepathy to scout map)
- Shrine of Strife (Requires save scumming. Place on snow or ice floors to use.)
- Whistle of peace (to prevent allies from killing it)
- Bokuto (to safely weaken the Putit)
- Monster Balls of an appropriate level
- Sleeping pills
- Potion of egg laying or Love potions
- Whip of Egg
- Shears
- Brush
Depending on game/world law settings, save scumming can be a useful strategy should a capture attempt fail for whatever reason.
Finding the Golden Putit:
The Golden Snow Putit appears extremely rarely near water sources, sandy beaches, or snowfields.
Incidentally, Shrines of Strife placed on snow or ice floors often summon monsters from snowfields. Therefore, if you can tolerate save scumming, you can attempt to summon the Golden Snow Putit by challenging Shrines of Strife placed on snow or ice floors.
Capturing via Monster Ball:
- Blow Whistle of Peace (optional step, depending on the strength of allies)
- Throw a sleeping pill at it to prevent it from fleeing while handling any adjacent enemies (optional step)
- Weaken the Putit to low health (with as few turns as possible)
- Throw Monster Ball at Putit
Capturing via Egg-laying:
Alternatively, the player can use a Whip of Egg on/throw Potion of egg laying or love potions at a sleeping Golden Snow Putit until it produces a fertilized egg, which can then be hatched in the player's home using a bed or egg incubator.
The chance of producing a fertilized egg is low, and may take many Love Potions or Whips of Egg to succeed. However, the Egg-Laying Potion has a higher chance (1/3) of producing a fertilized egg. Neither action will not awaken the Putit.
Capturing via Taming (Not Recommended):
Recruiting by brushing hostile monsters requires high affinity and taming skills. Therefore, this may be worth trying as a last resort if you fail to obtain a fertilized egg with a love potion.
- Blow Whistle of Peace to prevent allies from attacking it (best done before within visual range)
- Throw Sleeping Pill at the Putit to prevent it from fleeing.
- Throw Love Potions at the sleeping Putit (exact amount required for successful taming can vary, but the Putit will not awaken from thrown potions.)
- Shearing the sleeping Putit for a few more affinity points (optional step. Not recommended due to the high risk of putit waking up and escaping)
- Brushing the sleeping Putit to tame it (will not successfully tame if affinity or taming skill are not high enough).
Raising Golden Snow Putits
Once captured and assigned as ranch livestock, Golden Snow Putits which are regularly fed Pasture have a chance to produce fertilized eggs, which will hatch into more Golden Snow Putits.
Much like Farming's crop level affects the produce quality (e.g. a level 15 seed producing a +1 crop), the Golden Snow Putit's level will have an effect on the Gold Fiber's quality when sheared.
Leveling them up by fighting or training their skills is therefore recommended if one wishes to maximize the profitability of Golden Snow Putit ranching. Stat-increasing meals is not directly related to putit's level, but it will allow you to raise it steadily.
