Status Ailments, Hexes, Blessings and other effects.

Overview

Status Types

There are two main types of bad conditions, which are classified as status abnormalities and hexes.

Curses are debuffs, indicated by icons in the lower left corner of the screen, and can be removed with magic such as Holy Light and Vanquish Hex, or prevented with Holy Veil.

Status abnormalities are indicated as text in the lower left corner of the screen. Cures vary by type, as indicated in the table below, but many can only be cured over time. Instead, status abnormalities can be avoided by equipping the corresponding immune enchantment or by increasing element resistance.

Both curses and status abnormalities can be cured by praying to a deity, and if they are inflicted on an enemy, they can be erased with Shatter Hex.

Some status abnormalities and hexes have a set resistance attribute, and the symptoms can be reduced by increasing the corresponding primary attribute.

Blessings are the general term for buffs that appear as icons in the lower left corner of the screen; new from Elin are the transformation and perfume buffs, which have the characteristic of lasting longer than regular blessings. Perfume wears off after a few sleeps. Other new additions include the intonation buff, which does not cancel over the course of a turn, but instead consumes a charge when dealing melee or remote damage.

Resistance to Status Abnormalities and Hexes

Characters may resist and nullify status abnormalities and hex spells. Even if they are affected, the effects may be reduced and may not be fully effective.

The nullification rate of hex spells is based on the ratio of the target's will and the spell caster's magic power.

The reduction rate of status abnormalities and hex is based on the main attribute used for reduction and the elemental resistance related to the status abnormality.

The higher the main attribute used for reduction and the elemental resistance, the greater the reduction in hexes and status abnormalities, approaching a certain intensity (the minimum guaranteed value set for each status abnormality, or 0).

Example:

If an elemental scar with a strength of -32 applied to an enemy with 44 endurance, the final reduction would be -24.

If the same spell is cast on an enemy with 869 endurance, the final reduction will be -7.

If the same spell is cast on an enemy with 1408 endurance, the final reduction will be -6.


Kizuami's Trick ability ignores this resistance, allowing it to inflict hexes without being reduced or nullified by the enemy.

Temporary immunity to Status Abnormalities and Hexes

Enemies marked with 『』 or 《》 gain temporary immunity to status abnormalities and hexes when they are affected by them.

Enemies with temporary immunity will reduce or nullify the strength of status abnormalities and hexes with a certain probability. This immunity is strengthened the more times the same status abnormality or hex is inflicted, and the probability of reduction or nullification increases.

Temporary immunity will not decrease until the PC leaves the map for at least one hour.

Hexes, Blessings & Transmutations

Blessings have positive and curses have negative effects.

Transmutations include both positive/disadvantageous effects, and perfumes are basically positive.

Positive effects can be undone by clicking on the icon.
