Elin:RanchAdvanced
Summary
This is for advanced ranching. This was made because every time anyone talked about ranching, I went ???. There's a lot of things that are not obvious.
I just wanted FAT cashmere so wrote this for myself.
This will answer a couple of questions.
- How do you get high level milk?
- How do you get high level noncombatant monsters so you can get things like crack cashmere?
- How do you get high level combat oriented monsters?
- How do you get high level monster balls?
Prerequisites
This guide is assuming your are pretty far into the game. There's a couple things you will need
- A fairly high level taming skill - >=70
- An extra settlement laying around to use
- Ability to make a lot of orens - When I say a lot of orens, I mean you must be able to generate at least 500k very easily without too much effort. The more orens, you have the better.
- Access to love potions
- An incubator - it lets you feed more milk
- Be fairly strong in combat yourself - You shouldn't have trouble killing level 100 mobs at this point
The Setup
Alright, you're going to need to set up a merchant town.
- (Optional: Have one of those big storage chests you get wrenching up)
- Recruit any secretary by brushing the shit out of them
- Recruit the Port Kapul Drug Dealer - use the guard to find them and brush em up
- Recruit as many as general shopkeepers as you want - use the guard and BRUSH AWAY. I would start with 3.
- Level up the secretary that you recruited to at least level 20-25
- Use the quest board to gain some influence - its easier if you just have things laying around in a chest
Getting Love Potions
- Level up the shit out of the drug dealer - Love potions became more common around level-20-25. Unknown as when this will become consistent. I still have to use a small amount of influence.
- Restock using influence until you have 7 ( you want to carry at least this many)
- Get some influence if you don't have any by doing quests
If you are going all into ranching, you could recruit more drug dealers.
Getting Milk
Once you have enough love potions, this is what you do to get enough milk:
- Go into a high level nefia, the void, or a war quest
- Find the highest level mob you can.
- Throw love potions at it until it drops milk(s).
Using the Milk
- Use an incubator to hatch a fertilized eggs
- Gift the newly hatched animal 3 milks - use all that milk you collected
- Congratulations, you have your steroid baby.
- In this game level is determined by combination of stats and skills - The more you can load onto one egg, the better
Getting Monster Balls (High level Monsters)
Ok, this is the real money sink here. There is really no limit to how much you can invest into this horizontally or vertically.
- Recruit a general shopkeeper like mentioned above
- Invest into them both with the secretary and directly
- Keep investing until they generate high level monster balls
Really, this can go on endlessly. You could keep throwing money at a couple general shop keepers. You could also get tons of general shop keepers and tank the efficiency of your town down.
Once you have them, you can finally go capture your little monster.
Unknowns
- Does throwing love potions at monsters make them drop more then just milk/eggs?
- Does throwing enough love potions at monsters make them peaceful? If not, is there a way to achieve this - Haven't seen it happen. There is a way to do this apparently, but I'm not sure how
- How exactly does Milk work?
- What if you ONLY care about getting your animal/monster to the highest level possible disregarding combat?
- There is Milk Status page but it doesn't cover everything
- What determines the level of the skills? Is it some kind of base and level multiplier?
- Does monster type matter? Is a level 100 dragon and putit the same?
- What if you ONLY care about getting your animal/monster to the highest level possible disregarding combat?
- Is there a limit to how much milk you can get from one hostile mob?
Notes
- I am new to wiki edits so was not really sure how to structure this
- There are a lot of things I don't know about this game and I have tried to mention things that I don't know
- Ranching and taming kind of go hand in hand
