* Once the player has a stable, reliable income, a little bit of food, and some pocket change, they can begin diving into the Nefia scattered across North Tyris.
* Getting a full set of gear from town Blacksmiths or Derphy's Black Market vendor is highly recommended, as every little bit of defense and evasion counts when the player begins diving into Nefia. Even something made of Paper, Bone, or Cotton can make a big difference early on.
* A ranged weapon of some kind, whether it be a Bow, Gun, Cane, Throwing Item or Spells is recommended. Some enemies explode when hit, do nasty critical hit damage, or are slow-moving but inflict status ailments like Paralysis when the player is right next to them. Having a ranged option to deal with these pesky enemies can significantly increase survivability.
* Once the player has their equipment ready, check the Quest Board in your home to accept the quest to rescue a lost puppy from Fiama.
* The Puppy Cave is a static, low-danger level Nefia (Dungeon) near the player's home. While it is low-danger, it still packs quite a threat to anyone unprepared.
** Leave your money at home or with a banker before diving into Nefia, as on death the player may drop up to 75% of their money on death once they are out of the beginner's grace period for death.
** Some source of healing, such as Bandages, Potions of Cure Light Wounds, or even the spell, "Cure Minor Wounds" is advised to help the player survive.
** Keep an eye out for traps! Path around them and try not to step on them, as even low level spear traps can significantly hurt you when you step on them.
** On the second floor of the Puppy Cave, the player can find Poppy fighting off enemies. Poppy is very strong until talked to, so try to use the dog to fight off any nearby enemies before talking to him and bringing him home. Once the player recruits him, they can middle click him to talk to him and send him home, keeping him safe while they make their escape from the dungeon.
** Upon return, Fiama rewards the player with the ★Cooler Box, an precious item that keeps food placed inside of it fresh for much, much longer. With this, the player can dive into deeper dungeons and travel farther away from home comfortably.
* The player can now take on low level random Nefia that are scattered through the land.
* Ones closer to the home and road will be at a lower Danger Level, but if the player finds that they are in over their heads, they can sell their Fame at an Informer to lower the difficulty of freshly generated Nefia.
